Desiré is a former Superyacht Interior Manager, who worked onboard some of the most renowned charter and private vessels in Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific. She served UHNW clients and lead diverse teams. During her career at sea, she became aware of the lack of support, training and practices that enable the effective management of crew.
After a moving ashore she completed a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management and Employment Relations. Her areas of research included talent management, psychosocial hazards at sea and seafarer career development. In 2023 she presented at the World Congress for Health and Safety highlighting psychosocial hazards faced by seafarers; and in 2024 she was awarded the prestigious Gerard Daniels Prize for her work in Strategic Human Resource Management.
Her extensive experience providing HR consultancy to diverse sectors, including transport, government, IT, and mining, equips her to make a significant impact on the Maritime industry
