Meet Founder and Principal Consultant, Desiré

Desiré is a former Superyacht Interior Manager, who gained her experience by working onboard some of the most renowned charter and private vessels in Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific. From entering the industry as a dock walker in Antibes to leading teams serving Ultra-High-Net-Worth Clients, her experience is specialised. During her career at sea, she became aware of the lack of support, training and practices that enable the effective management of crew.
After a rewarding career at sea, she decided to deep-dive into the human element, and completed her Masters Degree in Human Resource Management and Employment Relations from the University of Western Australia. Her areas of research included maritime careers, psychosocial hazards at sea and leading multi-national teams. In 2023 she presented at the World Congress for Health and Safety highlighting psychosocial hazards faced by seafarers; and in 2024 she was awarded the prestigious Gerard Daniels Prize for her work in Strategic Human Resource Management.
With experience delivering HR Consultancy to organizations in transport, public-sector, information technology and mining services, she brings a wealth of human resource management knowledge and experience to the Superyacht industry.
 Desiré now lives in Perth, Western Australia with her husband and Rhodesian Ridgeback, Brumby.

Bachelors of Social Sciences in Organizational Psychology and Economics  – University of Cape Town

Masters of Human Resource Management and Employment Relations  – University of Western Australia.
